Most parents dread getting a call from the police about their kid. This Lincoln, Nebraska mom decided to skip that step entirely and make the call herself. A group of teenagers is now facing charges after a local produce stand was trashed, and one of the suspects was turned in by her own mother.

The incident happened late last week at a small family-run stand on the outskirts of town. Surveillance footage showed several teens climbing over the fence, knocking over tables, and throwing crates of fruits and vegetables into the street. The owner estimated hundreds of dollars in damage and lost product.

Police posted the footage on social media, asking for help identifying the vandals. Within hours, a woman recognized her daughter among the group. Instead of keeping quiet, she drove the teen to the police station and filed a report.

"She said, 'Parenting done right,'" the officer on duty recalled. "She told us she raised her kids to know better, and if they messed up, they had to face the consequences."

The daughter, whose name has not been released due to her age, was cited for criminal mischief. The other teens involved were identified through the same video and are also facing charges. The produce stand owner said he was surprised by the mother's decision but grateful.

The mother declined to speak with reporters, but a neighbor said she was "firm but fair" and had always taught her children to own up to their mistakes. The case has sparked local debate, with many praising the mother for holding her daughter accountable rather than making excuses.
